Rock and Roll Still Lives

I’m a lifelong rock and roll dude. You get older but you still are a rocker.

Well today I discovered new rock and roll song that captures the spirit of what the music is.

Thanks to Bandcamp and the Best Punk Music of July 2026 they featured a band that isn’t quite punk, isn’t quite garage, isn’t quite country, but is 100% ROCK AND ROLL.

The band is Twisted Teens out of New Orleans. The song is Florida Water Blues. Here’s an interview with the two guys (Caspian and Ramon) – rock and roll and the tarot. Nice! I’ve listened to a few of the other songs and they are great but I currently have Florida Water Blues on REPEAT.

Then you can drink that Florida water and go blind

Kicks ass in an Americana Rockabilly Rock and Roll kind of way. From the interview article:

Twisted Teens is a rockin’ roll band from New Orleans. The Kinks of living in a school bus with no wheels on it. The Rolling Stones of Jungian anarchism. The Buzzcocks of the poisoned bogs of south Louisiana. Punk inflected country music, or country inflected punk music idk. Memetic warfare via earworms (it’s extremely catchy.) Outperforms all other bands in every metric, drinks every night but still makes it to the gym. Draws no contrast between the familiar and unfamiliar.

The song:

The video is great as well – filmed in New Orleans and really captures the song.
