3 Chords and the Damn Truth – The Rock and Roll Show!
A bit of a special treat for you guys on this show – on Friday 9/7 here in Augusta Georgia, we had the annual Border Bash on the eve of the football game between the South Carolina Gamecocks and the Georgia Bulldogs. Its a big outdoor party with cheerleaders from each school, lots of beer, Hooter’s girls, and music. Oh, and 15,000 or so folks!
This year the Border Bash featured the Classic Rock All Stars – a band composed of original members from Rare Earth, Iron Butterfly, Blues Image, Sugarloaf, Cannibal and the Headhunters. The members are Jerry Corbetta, Mike Pinera, Peter Rivera, and Dennis Noda and they play the original songs of the bands they were in – in lots of cases songs they wrote…you know, songs like In A Gadda Da Vida, Don’t Call Us We’ll Call You, Ride Captain Ride – the soundtrack of our rock and roll youth.
These guys do a REALLY good show – catch them if they are in your area.

I caught the opening of their show as they played the classic Rare Earth tune “Get Ready”. Not the best sound quality by any means, but I hope you enjoy the Classic Rock All Stars.
